I think federalism is a good and the best idea. Under federalism everyone is all states are equal.Consider presidental elections. Congress sets the date for national elections, but the states register voters and run the elections. States count the ballots, but the national government organizes the electoral vote, which really determines who will be president. Although the country needs one central government, the fact is that different areas of the country require different needs. Federalism allows the states in different locations of the country to enact laws that are better suited for the citizens that live there, while still maintaining one central government. It also helps to regulate federal control over the people.

I agree with your assessment about federalism, in which people in different states have different needs. Well, in your first sentence you did not have to write good and best, you could have right away explain why you think it is a good idea. "I think federalism is a good idea because........"
Now, could have been a mistake, but you said "is" instead of "in" when explaining that people in all states are equal. You didn't have to use "one central government" you could have said "A central government"
